When and how much are managers allowed to lie?!

We were on a plane that was supposed to take us to Yazd. It was morning and eating breakfast did not allow most of the passengers to notice the change of the plane’s route. A few minutes later, the pilot calmly and gently explained to us that due to problems in Yazd airport’s navigation systems, we will return to Tehran and assured us that the problem is related to the airport and has nothing to do with the plane.
When the pilot explained the issue, one of the passengers who was sitting in the row in front of me said to his fellow passenger: “Don’t believe him, he is lying, the problem is with the plane! And I wonder why we don’t trust what the authorities say, we don’t believe them We are pessimists and skeptics, I thought and felt sad.

Immediately after the plane landed at the Mehrabad airport, the pilot started talking again and explained that the problem was related to the plane and that he told an expedient lie in order not to make us worry and anxious!

While I saw the enthusiasm of a respectable passenger whose prediction had come true, I also thought that if I hear from a pilot again that the problem of returning to the origin has nothing to do with the plane and is related to the bad weather or the conditions of the destination airport. is, why and how much should I believe this?
Honesty and transparency are the main basis of trust and there is no duplicate trust. If the employees do not trust the managers, the work of the organization and its managers is difficult. In my opinion, the organization’s values, especially honesty and truthfulness, cannot be traded or compromised in any way. Trust is hard earned and easily lost.

Trust is like the glue that binds the members of any organization together. Successful group and organizational activity is basically unthinkable without trust; Managers must trust and be trusted. If managers do not trust their employees, there will be no delegation and empowerment, and if they are not trusted by employees, no one will follow them.

Therefore, in response to the question; “When and how much are managers allowed to lie!?”

I have to say; never
